Paisley is looking to be the only dog in the home and would enjoy socialising with doggie friends when out and about. (Paisley has the potential to live with dogs in the future (he’s a bit too boisterous and over playful at present)) He does have a chase drive so no cats or small furries. He will need an adult home where someone is around for most of the time, time left alone will need to be built up gradually. Paisley is not a dog that would enjoy trips to the pub, cafes or restaurants. He is more of your rural, adventures type of dog, and would love nothing more than to join his humans on cross-country runs; how about some canicross? He can be worried in busy environments and by over-handling. He will need a quiet home environment and any potential adopters would benefit from either having breed experience or doing some research into breed traits. Adopters should be prepared to visit the rehoming centre a few times so you can get to know each other and build up a bond before adoption.
This handsome hound is a big lover of outdoor adventure, he enjoys long walks and often goes out with one of his carers who is big into cross country running. They have a fun time together and clock up a fair few miles. Paisley is a large Trail Hound who loves going for long walks, using his nose and socialising with other dogs. He has met a number of breeds of all shapes and sizes. Handsome Paisley is a real livewire, he is boisterous and fun-loving! He is a keen walker and can be strong on his lead. He has an interesting howl that you will hear often in the woodland when he is happy and excited. He came to us as a stray, he has been visiting our staff accommodation and is happy in there, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of a home environment. He has already learnt a ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘paw’, and is learning a ‘wait’ and a roll-over. He enjoys playing with toys and is happy to go on short car journeys. He loves running and would happily join you on trail runs and would be good at canicross. Once he has had his exercise he does like a fuss and to snuggle into the people that he knows well, and it does not take him long to build that bond.
